Concerts at Nadabrahma Sabha

Mysore/Mysuru: The following concerts have been organised at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city:

Mar. 7 – 6 pm: Smt. Gunamba Nanjaraje Urs Memorial Concert sponsored by Harin Nanjaraje Urs – Vid. Bangalore M. Nishanth will present a Karnatak Vocal Concert, accompanied by Vid. Keshava Mohankumar on violin, Vid. Sai Shiv Lakshmi Keshav on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.

Nishanth, a 17-year-old performer, was inducted formally to Karnatak Music under the tutelage of Vid. D.V. Nagarajan and got his advanced training under Sangeetha Choodamani Vid. O.S. Thiagarajan, Chennai.

Nishanth is a recipient of the prestigious CCRT for the past 5 years. He has been performing at many prestigious Sabhas across the country and has got many a laurels. He is studying Engineering.

Mar. 8 – 6 pm: Smt. Indiradevi Praphullachandra Memorial Concert sponsored by late Veerappa Praphullachandra – Shruti Bode will present ‘Shivoham,’ a Hindustani Vocal Music, blend of Classical & Semi-Classical, accompanied by Pt. Bhimashankar Bidanoor on tabla and Pt. Satish Bhat on harmonium.

Shruti is a talented musician with 24 years of experience. Under the guidance of Gurus Vidu. Vani Hardikar and Dr. Bharati Vaishampayan, she has become a B-High grade artiste at AIR. She gained recognition as a semifinalist on ETV Kannada’s Ede Tumbi Haaduvenu in 2008. She has showcased her talent in Germany and Bali, and now resides in Bengaluru, where she teaches music and composes songs in Kannada.

A facilitator at SPIC MACAY, she is also learning music therapy under renowned music therapist, Vid. Rajam Shanker. Currently she teaches music at Indian Music Experience Museum, Bengaluru.
