Forest Guard’s body fished out from Kabini Backwaters

H.D. Kote: A Forest Guard, who went for a swim in Kabini Backwaters near Udbur Camp in the taluk was drowned yesterday morning and his body was fished out this morning.

The deceased is Supreeth (32), a resident of Ankanathapura village in the taluk who was serving as a Forest Guard at D.B. Kuppe Forest Range.

Forest Department officials,  Fire and Emergency Services personnel and expert swimmers from Kerala launched a search operation to trace and fish out his body but suspended the search in the evening due to darkness.

The search operation was resumed this morning and the body was found floating a little distance away from Udbur Camp. The body was fished out and shifted to the Taluk Hospital for post-mortem.

H.D. Kote Police have registered a case. Antharasanthe ACF Madhu, RFO Siddaraju, D.B. Kuppe RFO Hanumantharaju, Veeranahosahalli ACF Lakshmikanth, Mandya ACF Mahadevaiah and staff were present.
