Mysore/Mysuru: Condemning the steep hike in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders and 5-kg cylinders, by the Central Government, CPI(M) – Communist Party of India (Marxist), Mysuru District Committee, has demanded the roll-back of hike in price.
In a press release, CPI (M) has stated that, following the increase in price of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs. 1,000, the cascading effect is being felt by the public, due to the increase in prices of other commodities.
While the price of domestic cylinder remains low, the rate of 5-kg subsidy-free cylinder has been increased by Rs. 261, that will adversely impact migrant labourers. For the second time in two months, PM Narendra Modi-led Central Government, has hiked the cylinder price. The people would have lived with peace, had the Government let go off the revenue generated through cylinders. However, the Government which provides tax exemption has been practicing anti-people policy by hiking the prices of essential commodities, the press release added.
