Mysuru: GRS Fantasy Park, Mysuru, has opened a 5,000 sq. ft. zero-depth family pool and five new children’s rides at a combined investment of Rs. 5 crore, an expansion the company says is aimed at visitors across three generations.
The attractions were soft-launched in mid-April and GRS expects between 2 lakh and 2.5 lakh visitors during the April-to-June summer holiday period.
The pool, named the Magical Pool, is built around a 2,000 sq ft semi-circular central section with a depth of 10 inches, fitted with anti-skid glass tiles. The company says it is not designed for swimming; the shallow depth is intended to let families with young children experience the water together. Surrounding the central pool are interactive features including water mushrooms, water guns, hula hoops, floor fountains, dipping cones, and a tipping bucket.
The pool’s castle-themed backdrop was executed by Kerala-based artist Samule and his team. The decking is laid with 50 mm EPDM anti-skid rubber flooring designed to cushion falls. Water is recycled every 45 minutes through a glass-media filtration system and two trained lifeguards and two attendants are stationed at the pool.
The five new rides — Jumping Cloud, Magic Cycle, Rotating Bee, Crazy Car and Safari King — opened alongside the pool. Four are designed for children aged three to nine; Jumping Cloud is open to all ages. The rides are imported. Each is fitted with safety belts and automatic safety mechanisms, and a trained crew member is stationed at every ride during operating hours.
