Mysore/Mysuru: The School of Public Health and the Department of Cardiology, JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), in collaboration with Philips, recently organised a cardiovascular health awareness initiative for students, clinicians and hospital staff as part of “Care for Caregivers” event.
The initiative focused on promoting heart health awareness and encouraging proactive lifestyle choices through the use of accessible, technology-enabled wellness tools. As part of the programme, participants were introduced to Philips HeartPrint, an AI powered, smart-phone based lifestyle application designed to provide insights related to personal heart health and overall well-being through a simple finger-based scan.
The sessions were conducted over two days at JSS Medical College and at JSS Hospital which witnessed enthusiastic participation from both teaching and non-teaching staff.
Participants had the opportunity to engage with a set of indicators, including heart health related indices, body composition parameters and hand grip strength, providing a broader perspective on functional and lifestyle-oriented aspects of health.

A total of 354 participants took part in the initiative, reflecting strong interest in preventive health awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. C.P. Madhu, Director, JSS Hospital, highlighted the importance of building awareness around heart health and empowering individuals to take informed, proactive steps toward maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The initiative underscores the value of collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners in advancing health awareness, promoting preventive lifestyles and supporting the well-being of the healthcare professionals, stated a press release from Dr. Anil S.
