June 4, 2026

Mysuru, June 4 (MK&BS) – Farmer leaders of the district have appealed to the Revenue Department officers to rein in land grabbers, who have been targeting Government lands by forging land records.
Participating in a meeting convened by Tahsildar K.M. Mahesh Kumar, to hear the grievances of farmers, at the auditorium of Mysuru Taluk Office in Nazarbad here yesterday, the farmer leaders demanded action against land grabbers within the ambit of law.
District General Secretary of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha P. Marankaiah said, the number of liquor vends is increasing in the taluks and remain open throughout the day. The hard-earned money of daily wagers is going to liquor outlets. The Fair Price Shops at rural areas open only thrice a week, leaving consumers in a fix. The food grains should be distributed at least for 20 days in a month, he urged.
District Secretary of Sugarcane Growers Association Baradanapura Nagaraj brought to notice the vacancy of doctors at Government Hospitals in the taluk areas.
The patients are met with cold response, as they are forced to wait till the arrival of doctors. Fed up over the prolonged delay of doctors in attending to them, the patients are forced to travel to the city to avail treatment, he said, demanding action to take corrective measures.
Taluk President of Sugarcane Growers Association Anandur Prabhakar complained that, there is a discrepancy in supply of sowing seeds and fertilisers by Agriculture Department. Besides, the Horticulture Department officials have failed to reach the subsidies provided by the Government to farmers.
