Ensure financial fraudsters do not escape law: KPA Director

June 12, 2026

Mysuru: Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) Director Dr. N. Vishnuvardhana has called upon investigating officers to conduct thorough and precise inquiries into financial crimes to ensure that fraudsters do not escape legal action.

Addressing a three-day training workshop on the detection of economic and financial frauds organised at the KPA for Police officers from across Karnataka, Dr. Vishnuvardhana said investigators must have a clear understanding of procedures involved in registering cases and carrying out investigations.

A total of 31 Police Officers, including three DySPs, four Inspectors and 24 Sub-Inspectors from different parts of Karnataka, are participating in the workshop.

“It is the responsibility of investigating officers to ensure that offenders are not let off under any circumstances. They must be well-versed with the procedures for filing cases and conducting investigations,” he said.

The workshop aims to enhance the investigative skills of officers dealing with financial fraud cases. Experts from various fields will provide insights into investigation methods, legal procedures and other important aspects related to economic offences.

He urged officers to discuss challenges faced while handling financial fraud cases at their respective stations and seek solutions from the resource persons.

“The knowledge gained here should also be shared with colleagues in your jurisdiction,”                         he advised. The sessions focus on key aspects such as registering FIRs, conducting inquiries, investigation procedures, filing charge sheets and precautions to be followed while dealing with financial crimes. KPA Deputy Director S.L. Chennabasavanna and other officials were present.
