Mysuru, June 12 (MTY&BS)- To commemorate International Day of Yoga, Union Ministry of AYUSH has organised Nitya Yoga programme to encourage the practice of Yogasana on a daily basis among people from this year and the District AYUSH Officers have been instructed to implement the programme.
Preparations are on for the celebration of Yoga Day on June 21 and the AYUSH Department has plans to organise month-long Yoga sessions.
The Union Ministry of AYUSH has devised Nitya Yoga on the lines of ‘Yoga Bharat-365’ programme conceived in Koppal District of the State. The AYUSH doctors will be organising Yoga classes daily, in coordination with local Yoga teachers and the teachers at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, through various digital platforms including Google meet and Zoom.
District AYUSH Officer Dr. Renukadevi said, the Statewide Nitya Yoga programme will be held from June 22, 2026 to July 21, 2027.
Every District Committee will supervise the seven-day session on shift basis covering all the districts. The classes will be conducted for one-hour from 5.30 am to 6.30 am, including 45 minutes for Yoga practice and 15 minutes for a lecture related to health from expert doctors.
The District-level four-member committee headed by AYSUH Officer has been constituted with instructions to give priority to those doctors practicing Yoga and Naturopathy in respective districts to on board them as Committee Members.
Union AYUSH Ministry has decided to reward those districts with a Special Award for organising the programme in an appreciable manner.
