June 13, 2026

Mysuru, June 13 (BCT)- ‘Parisara Habba’, an initiative to celebrate ecology, biodiversity and citizen participation, was launched in Mysuru with an interactive community gathering titled Adda,                 bringing together citizens, environmental enthusiasts and experts to share skills, interests and knowledge.

The inaugural event served as an open and voluntary platform for dialogue and collaboration on environmental issues. 13 persons participated in the session, including Mysuru Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF – Territorial) K. Paramesh. Over 120 citizens attended the programme, using the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and exchange ideas on environmental conservation and sustainable urban development.

As part of the initiative, a ‘Kukkarahalli Kere Walk’ has been scheduled tomorrow (June 14) from 7.15 am to 9 am.

Led by wetland expert and noted conservationist Prof. U.N. Ravikumar, the walk will explore the history, biodiversity and ecological significance of the Kukkarahalli Lake. Participants will assemble at the Railway Level Crossing gate of the lake.

Another event, ‘Solver Jam’, will be held on June 21 from 7.30 am to 9.30 am on Bannimantap Road, opposite Milan Banquet Hall.

The programme will focus on building communication skills using data and highlighting how evidence-based campaigns and reports can influence community behaviour, actions and policy decisions to minimise the ecological impact of urban development. The session will engage youth and citizens in efforts to protect Mysuru’s 561 identified trees through effective communication and community action.

A second event, ‘Solver Jam’ (Peer Learning), is scheduled for June 27 from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm at No. 2343, 5th Cross, Anikethana Road, Kuvempunagar. It will provide a platform for participants to share, discuss and learn from solutions developed to address everyday challenges in their neighbourhoods.
