Mysuru: Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP), a leading consumer and civic rights organisation in Mysuru city, has launched a new website, mygrapa.org, offering citizens an insight into its activities, achievements and ongoing initiatives since its inception in 1989.
The website documents MGP’s work in consumer rights advocacy, civic engagement and environmental protection, highlighting its interventions with agencies such as the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Mysuru Development Authority (MDA), Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW), Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) , KSRTC, Railways and the Forest Department.
It also features a pictorial history of the organisation and profiles of activists who contributed to causes ranging from safe drinking water and food adulteration awareness to tree planting and lake conservation.
Among the major campaigns highlighted are efforts to oppose the proposed Chamalapura coal-based power plant, prevent ropeway projects on Chamundi Hill and resist large-scale tree felling in the city.
According to MGP, the website will be expanded further with resources on consumer protection and information related to the proposed Tree Authority. The organisation has invited citizens to visit the portal and stay informed about consumer rights and civic issues.
