Short circuit suspected; baby clothes, toys destroyed

Mysuru: With the fire tragedy at the restobar in Dattagalli that killed two persons still fresh in the minds of the people, another fire mishap took place at a store on Panchamantra Road in Kuvempunagar destroying clothes, toys and other items yesterday.

The fire was noticed at about 5.45 am by morning walkers who immediately informed Saraswathipuram Fire Station. Soon, Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot along with two fire extinguishing vehicles, managed to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading further. But the fire had partially destroyed various items including infant and baby clothes, toys, baby equipment, soaps, shampoos, tricycles etc.

Short circuit: It is suspected that a short circuit in the air conditioner triggered the fire.

The air conditioner and a computer have also been destroyed in the fire. Luckily, no loss of life or injury took place as there was no one in the baby store when the fire broke out.
