Mysuru: As part of the activities leading up to Yatri Suvidha Diwas 2026, observed on June 15, Mysore Airport facilitated an educational aviation familiarisation visit for school students recently.
The students were provided with an enriching opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the aviation environment. During the visit, the students were taken on a guided tour of the Airport’s passenger terminal building, where they were familiarised with various passenger facilitation measures, airport processes and the role of different stakeholders involved in airport operations.
The students also visited the Airport Fire Station, where officials explained the functions of Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services, emergency response mechanisms, specialised fire-fighting equipment and the critical role played by the fire service in ensuring aviation safety.
The highlight of the programme was the visit to the Orient Flying School in the airport premises. The students interacted with aviation professionals and were introduced to the fundamentals of flight training, aircraft operations and career opportunities in aviation sector. The visit provided valuable insights into the journey of becoming a pilot and other aviation-related professions.
The initiative was organised to create awareness among young students about the aviation industry and inspiring them to explore future careers in aviation. The programme also helped students understand the importance of airport infrastructure, safety systems and passenger-centric services.
