VTU rewards Rs. 1.25 lakh to NIE for sports achievement

Mysuru: Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) awarded Rs. 1.25 lakh cash prizes NIE Mysuru for achievements in sports for the academic year 2024-25 at an event held at VTU campus in Belagavi recently. 

The college had scored a total of 552 points in the VTU inter-collegiate sports activities during 2024-25. 

NIE excelled in VTU Inter-Collegiate Mysuru Division and State-level Sports activities in Chess, Volleyball, Basketball, Yoga, Throwball, Softball, Baseball, Handball, Table Tennis, Badminton and Kho-Kho.  

This apart, 20 students of the institute represented VTU in Inter-University Sports Competitions — Basketball – 2, Volleyball – 1, Softball – 5, Cricket – 1, Hockey – 2, Baseball – 3, Handball – 2, Tennis – 1, Weightlifting – 2 and Wushu – 1.
