Mysuru: Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Mysuru, has organised a music programme in memory of late M. Govinda Rao and late D. Rama Bai under the endowment instituted by Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam 3rd Stage here on July 11 at 6 pm.

Industrialist and art patron  Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy will inaugurate the event. Sri Krishna Ganasabha President B.S. Sridhar Raj Urs will preside.

Vid. Dr. Suchethan Rangaswamy will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Madhusudhan on violin, Vid. M.R. Manjunath on mridanga, Vid. T.A. Ramanujam on morching and Vid. V. Ravindra on tambura.

Profile: Suchethan Rangaswamy is a Karnatak musician, Veena player, actor and founder of Sumadhura Education and Cultural Trust in Bengaluru. He also serves as the official mentor on Zee Kannada Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show.

Rangaswamy was born into a musical family and his mother Suma Rangaswamy taught him Karnatak music when he was four years old. His parents, being art lovers, encouraged and supported his musical endeavours by arranging for him to study with renowned musicians such as Vidu. Sarvamangala Shankar, Vidu. P. Ramaa and Vidu. M.S. Vidya. He had additional training from Vid. R.K. Srikantan and Vid. P. Unnikrishnan.

He graduated from M.S. University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and has a Ph.D in Voice Culture from the University of Swahili.
