Bengaluru: Milk Unions across the State have urged the Government for hiking Nandini Milk price by Rs. 8 a litre.

Pointing out that the cost of milk production is getting higher due to monsoon failure, rising cattle feed prices and other factors, the Presidents and office-bearers of various Milk Unions have urged the Government to immediately announce Nandini milk price hike by at least Rs. 8 per litre.

Setting a 3-day deadline to the Government for announcing milk price hike, they warned of launching an agitation if Nandini milk price hike is not announced by then. Stating that they had submitted a proposal to Government on milk price hike eight months ago, they maintained that the Government had not taken their demand seriously. But now, with rising milk production costs becoming a huge burden to farmers, the Govt. must announce price hike, they argued.
