KSRTC offers Dasara tour packages

Deva Darshini, Giri Darshini and Jala Darshini trips from Oct. 15 to 27; no service on Oct. 20, 21

Mysuru: In view of the Dasara festivities, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced affordable one-day tour packages from Oct. 15 to 27.

The tours, operated under the ‘Darshini’ brand, will cover popular tourist destinations on three routes and are aimed at both visitors and Mysuru residents.

The services will operate daily, except on Ayudha Puja and Jumboo Savari days. Each tour will depart from the Mysuru Sub-Urban Bus Stand at 6.30 am and will operate only if a minimum of 20 passengers have booked tickets.

Deva Darshini: The package covers Nanjangud, Talakad, Shivanasamudra, popularly known as The Bluff, Mudukutore, Somnathpur, Srirangapatna and Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam. The fare is Rs. 300 for adults and Rs. 200 for children.

Giri Darshini: The tour covers Bandipur, Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, Biligirirangana Betta (B.R. Hills), Nanjangud and Chamundi Hill. The fare is Rs. 400 for adults and Rs. 250 for children.

Jala Darshini: The itinerary includes the Golden Temple at Bylakuppe, Dubare Elephant Camp, Cauvery Nisargadhama, Abbey Falls, Raja’s Seat and Harangi Reservoir. The fare is Rs. 450 for adults and Rs. 300 for children.

Officials said that the packages would benefit visitors arriving from different parts of the State as well as Mysuru residents, allowing them to visit several tourist attractions in a day at an affordable cost.

The tours will operate from Oct. 15 to 27, with services suspended on Oct. 20 and 21. Tickets can be purchased at the Avatar counter, said H.T. Veeresh, Divisional Controller, KSRTC Rural Division.

700 additional buses to clear rush

To ease the rush of tourists during Dasara, the KSRTC will deploy 700 additional buses to ferry passengers to Mysuru from various destinations.

Over 300 buses have been slotted from Bengaluru Central Division (80 buses), including Bengaluru South (55), Tumakuru (45), Madhugiri (20), Kolar (50), and Chikkaballapur (50) and 400 buses from Mysuru Rural (150 buses), Mysuru City (60), Mandya (70), Hassan (50) and Chamarajanagar (70).
