Bengaluru: Not to be left behind ahead of the 2018 Assembly Polls, the Congress party will launch a Jan Ashirwad Yatra across the State as a reply to the BJP’s ongoing ‘Parivartana’ rally.
Addressing press persons here yesterday, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah said that he will launch Jan Ashirwad Yatra in March.
Pointing out that ahead of the rally, he plans to undertake a month-long Jan Ashirwad Yatra from Dec.13 and inaugurate a slew of projects across the State, the CM said that the BJP leaders are going around the State as they had no work.
Hitting out at the BJP for its Parivartana Yatra, Siddharamaiah maintained that the belated start of the Congress Yatra was inevitable “unlike the opposition, we are ruling the State. We have to clear files and deliver services to the people, “he said.
Asserting that all leaders including KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwara would participate in the Jan Ashirwad Yatra, Siddharamaiah dismissed reports that Dr. Parameshwara was reportedly reluctant to join the Yatra.
When asked whether he would visit Gujarat for the party’s campaign, he said that here was no high command direction to him to go to Gujarat, which is going to the polls next month.
