City BJP urges State Govt. to waive off farmer loans

BSNL Unions oppose  formation of Subsidiary Tower Company

Urging for fulfilment of their various demands, the City BJP unit and Unions and Associations of the Non-Executives/Executives in BSNL, staged separate protests in city yesterday.

City BJP: Urging the State Government to waive off farmers’ loans, to open more goshalas, to take steps to provide fodder and to solve drinking water crisis in drought-hit places, about 100 BJP activists staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust, opposite City Law Courts Complex here yesterday morning.

The protestors said that 160 taluks in the State were hit by drought and alleged that Chief Minister, who was supposed to take up drought relief works, was showing negligence and condemned the CM’s attitude.

 

The protestors later took out a march to the DC office, where they submitted a memorandum to AC Ananda.

Unions and Associations of the Non- Executives/Executives in BSNL: Opposing the formation of a Subsidiary Tower Company by separating all the towers from BSNL, to stop undue concessions extended to Reliance Jio and asking Jio to pay penalty for using the photo of Prime Minister as their brand ambassador, about 100 members of Unions and Associations of the Non- Executives/Executives in BSNL, consisting of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar Districts, took out a rally from CTO office near City Bus Stand to the DC office yesterday.

The rally, passed through the thorough fares of the city and reached the DC office where they staged a protest   before submitting a memorandum.

Opposing the formation of a Subsidiary Tower Company by separating all the towers from BSNL, the protestors said that the Tower Company was meant for privatising it later and added the income on leasing out the towers can be increased with due concentration by BSNL.

Stating that the formation of such Subsidiary Tower Company, would make BSNL, to pay huge rent for utilising its own towers,  they urged the Central Government to drop the proposal. They alleged that Reliance Jio was allowed to use the photo of PM Modi as its brand ambassador for its advertisements and was allowed to extend its free data.
