Mysuru: Devaraja Police, on Jan.8, have arrested four women on charges of stealing Rs. 40,100 cash from a vanity bag at a textiles shop in city and have recovered Rs.39,166 cash from them.
The arrested have been identified as 24-year-old Sumathi, 26-year-old Lakshmi and 24-year-old Priya of Selam city in Tamil Nadu and 24-year-old Aaraayi of Chikkasalem also in Tamil Nadu.
The arrested women on Jan.7 visited Mannars Textile shop in Devaraja Police limits and had lifted Rs.40,100 cash from the vanity bag of a woman, who had come to purchase clothes.
Based on the complaint lodged by the woman who lost her cash with Devaraja Police, the Cops went through the footages of the CCTV camera installed in the shop which showed a woman stealing cash from the vanity bag.
A team of Police was deployed to nab the culprit and on Jan.8, the Police arrested four accused in Town Hall premises here and recovered Rs. 39,166 cash from them. DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Rajashekar supervised Devaraja Inspector C. Timmaraju, ASI Umesh Murthy and staff Anjaneya, Umesh, Manjunath, Nandish, Latha, Chandrika and Shilpa in the nabbing and recovery operation.
