Annual Sports Meet held

Farooqia PU College celebrated its Annual Sports Meet recently.

Dr. Tasneem Kouser, Anaesthesia Specialist, Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, inaugurated the programme by releasing the balloons. She stressed on the sports quota for the selection for the professional courses and jobs. She inspired the students by giving her own example that she got her admission in medicine on sports quota.

Dr. M. Sayeed Ahmed, Hon. Secretary of the College, presided over the function and felicitated the chief guest. Abdul Jabbar, Principal of the College, spoke on the occasion.  Dr. Syed Abdul Khuddus, Hon. Treasurer of the  College, was present.

The function commenced with the Qirath – narrated by M.K. Zakeer, Lecturer in Hindi. Ilyas Ahmed Khan, Lecturer in Kannada & Sports Secretary, welcomed the gathering. Zoha Binte Abdul Wahid (II Science student) took oath on behalf of all the students.

Tabassum, Lecturer in Geography and Sports Secretary for girls, proposed a vote of thanks.

‘Mir Murtuza Hussain Memorial Best Athlete Award’ was presented to Rehana Ainain (II Arts)  among the girls and Raheed Shariff (II Commerce) among the boys.

Sadvidya Educational Institutions: The Annual Athletic Meet of Sadvidya Educational Institutions was conducted at Mysore University Oval Grounds recently. M.J. Charan, Intl. Tennis Coach, was the chief guest. Institutions President R. Vijayashekar and Hon. Secretary M.D. Gopinath were present. The event was attended by more than 3,000 students of various divisions of Sadvidya Institutions.

Vidyavardhaka FGC: The Annual Sports Meet of the College was held at the University Oval Grounds recently. R. Nagaraju, International Tennis player and Administrative Officer, Income Tax Department, Mysuru, inaugurated the athletic meet by releasing the balloons to the air. Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Hon. Secretary P. Vishwanath, Treasurer S.N. Lakshminarayana, College Principal Dr. S. Marigowda, Prof. H.J. Chandrashekar, Prof. R. Siddharaju and M.U. Prasad were present.
