Overall Championship for JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing

The three-day ‘AIISH Aawaaz-2k17’, an inter-college cultural fest organised at the Panchavati Campus of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) on Bogadi Road in city concluded here yesterday. City’s renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Sridhar Jain, who spoke on the occasion, called upon the students not to participate in competitions just to win but to be identified. He said that one should not dance for the sake of winning but should dance to be identified by the people and added that one should work with honesty and dedication in any work besides stating that we should remember our parents and talk to teachers with respect.

He further said that out of every Rs. 100 earned, Rs. 2 should be kept aside for social work and added that his wife, who is a music teacher in a Government School, was taking care of the studies of nine children and is looking after a girl from a nomadic community. He also said that they were helping a mentally-disturbed girl since six years in getting medical assistance and now she has completed B.Com course. He called upon the students to save a part of the money earned for such social causes.

JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing – Mysuru won Overall Championship; MERF – Chennai won fashion show. AIISH Director Dr. S.R. Savithri, AIISH Gymkhana Vice-President Dr. Animesh Burman, Gen. Secretary S. Rakshith & Cultural Secretary M. Varsha Athreya were present.
