National CME on teaching and learning held at JSS Medical College

Mysuru:  A National Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on teaching and learning in digital era was organised by the Department of Anatomy at JSS Medical College in city recently.

Dr. T .Vijay Sagar, Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Porur, Chennai, spoke about ‘Rapid authoring tools for e-content preparation’ while Dr. Balasubramaniam, Head, Department of Anatomy, St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru, spoke about ‘Winds of change in medical education.’

Adarsh highlighted points regarding next generation of digital education in the healthcare system. He also explained about educational content consumption and about enhanZed mobile app.

A panel discussion on ‘Digital Technology in Higher Education – A boon or bane’ was organised where Dr. Datta Kumar, Head of programme design and development of enhanZed Education Pvt. Ltd., Dr. G. K. Sadagoban, Lecturer, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, Dr. Prashanth M. Vishwanath, Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, JSS Medical College, Mysuru and Raghul Raj, student, JSS Medical College, participated.

Dr. S. Prashanth, Reader, Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, JSS Dental College & Hospital, also spoke at the CME programme.

JSS University Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Registrar Dr. B. Manjunatha, Director of JSS Hospital Dr. (Col.) Dayanand, Principal of JSS Medical College Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, Vice- Principal (pre-clinical) Dr. B.M. Balaraj, Vice-Principal (clinical) Dr. G.V. Manjunatha, Dr. N.M. Shyamsundar, Dr. K. Pushpalatha, Organising Chairman and Dr. C.S. Vidya, Organising Secretary, were present.  

At the valedictory of the CME, feedback forms were collected from delegates. Dr. G.K. Nalini, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. S. Shivananda, Reader, Department of Oral Surgery, JSS Dental College, shared their opinion about the National CME. More than 156 delegates had registered for the CME programme.
