IMA to launch exclusive SBI credit card for doctors

April 1, 2018

Mysuru: SBI Card has partnered with Indian Medical Association (IMA), the largest voluntary representative organisation of doctors, to launch Doctor’s SBI Card, an exclusive credit card for doctors.

The product has been designed in close association with IMA and is based on research and insights into the distinct requirements and lifestyles of doctors.

Doctor’s SBI Card offers industry-first feature of professional indemnity insurance cover of Rs. 10 lakh to protect doctors against professional risks and liabilities.

In their profession, doctors may face unforeseen events giving rise to risk of claims from patients or related parties.

To safeguard their professional interest, the card offers cover for legal and defence costs as well as out-of-court settlements and court awards.

Doctor’s SBI Card drives maximum value for doctors through accelerated rewards on spend categories relevant for them such as medical supplies, travel and international spends. Many doctors, at a certain stage in their career, operate through private clinics.

Thus, accelerated rewards are offered to bring doctors enhanced value on purchase of medical supplies. Research reveals that doctors incur 50% higher international spends than regular customers.

To complement their frequent travel, Doctor’s SBI Card offers 5X rewards on travel bookings through travel websites/apps as well as on international spends.

Doctor’s SBI Card also brings cardholders a privileged travel experience through complimentary Priority Pass membership which enables them to access international airport lounges without charge.

The card has been launched on the Visa Signature platform which allows cardholders complimentary access to domestic airport lounges, discounts on car rentals and hotel bookings worldwide, discounts on airport immigration fast track services, 24/7 concierge services etc.

Cardholders can also choose to avail EMI facility, either at point of purchase, or convert unpaid balances to EMIs, at attractive rates of interest.

Each card is personalised with ‘Dr.’ embossed on the card front against the name of the card-holder together with qualification degrees of the medical practitioner, making it an exclusive product.

The card offers value from the point of enrolment itself, through a welcome voucher worth Rs.1,500 redeemable at Yatra.com.

Accelerated benefits of 5X reward points can also be availed on all card spends on Doctor’s Day (July 1).

Along with ongoing benefits via accelerated rewards, the card also rewards customers on achieving annual spend  milestones.
