Pranathi Giridhar, a 2nd standard student of Police Public School (born November 17, 2014), is a budding WUSHU player from Mysuru. She is the current Wushu State Champion in Sub-Junior Category [Below 21 Kg].
She got Gold Medal in 21st Karnataka State WUSHU Championship held at Shivamogga recently which is her hattrick Gold in State-level. She is also a two-time Bronze Medalist at the Nationals. She holds the record of being Youngest Medalist at the National-level.
While the average age of players in the Sub-Junior category who get into the Nationals is 10 to 12 years, Pranathi holds a National Medal at the age of 7. She was also a State-level Gold Medallist at the age of 6. That depicts her spirit, dedication and love towards the game. She has also served as Resource Person and Trained the children with Special Needs and Caregivers for Wushu in the Summer Camp 2022 held at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru. That’s another feather to her cap.
Pranathi is trained under U. Darshan, a National Institute of Sports (NIS) Coach in Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium. NIS is the Academic Wing of Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Asia’s largest Sports Institute. Pranathi is the daughter of Photographer S.D. Giridhar and L. Sangeetha couple, Mysuru.
