Extending the length of road dividers at certain traffic signal junctions is a commendable initiative by the Department concerned. This measure is expected to help curb the dangerous practice of driving on the wrong side of the road dividers and jumping traffic signals.

However, despite the installation of longer dividers, some habitual traffic violators continue to flout the rules by taking the wrong side of the road.

It is unfortunate and deeply troubling that such motorists remain indifferent to safety, recklessly endangering not only their own lives but also the lives of fellow road users. Strict and consistent penal action is the only effective deterrent against such reckless behaviour.
