Mysuru: Padmapriya Ramesh, a tennis player from Mysuru has won prizes, catching the attention of sports lovers, at Asian Under 14 and Under Grade A (South Asia) Tennis Tournament held at Jubilee Hills International Centre, Hyderabad in Telangana, from June 23 to 28.
Padmapriya finished third in Singles and second in Doubles category. The top seed players took part in Asian Grade-A Tournament and all the games were interesting to watch, with the players showing a remarkable talent to outwit each other.
The top eight players, who made it to quarter finals, were rewarded with 350 US dollars each.
Following the third prize win in Doubles category, Padmapriya has earned 850 points securing 14th seed among U-14 players in Asia, fourth in India and first in Karnataka.
A Class 8 student of Excel Public School, Mysuru, Padmapriya is the daughter of Dr. P. Ramesh Kumar, Conservator of Forests (Project Tiger), Mysuru and Dr. Malathi Priya, Conservator of Forests (Mysuru Circle).
Raghuveer Ponnuswamy and Pawan are her coaches and Sagar is her fitness trainer.
