A first in the State: Paperless registration on in Chamarajanagar

May 3, 2026

Chamarajanagar: In a first such initiative in the State, Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps M.P. Mullai Muhilan launched the paperless registration of properties at Chamarajanagar Sub-Registrar’s Office, located in Taluk Office premises here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Mullai Muhilan said that the pilot project is implemented in Chamarajanagar, a first in the State. “The initiative will be expanded throughout the State after taking note of the pros and cons,” he added.

“Kaveri 2.0 software that is currently in use in the Department of Registration and Stamps since 2023, has been updated to facilitate paperless registration of properties. This initiative completely eliminates creation of fake documents/records and registration of fake records,” he pointed out.

Continuing, Muhilan said from now on, property records of the public will no longer be physical in nature and will be available only in the digital format. There will be no need to present documents/records in physical form to banks or other institutions for availing loans or for any other transactions.

Asserting that the initiative facilitates quick and easy availability of records via online, Muhilan said every process  will be transparent in this new initiative.

Assistant Inspector General of Registration H.L. Prabhakara, Chamarajanagar district Registrar C. Kiran, Mandya district Registrar S. Siddesh and others were present.
