A.H. Vishwanath hits out at Kaginele Mutt Seer

July 1, 2018

Mysuru:  Taking strong exception to the statements of Kanaka Guru Peetha Seer Niranjanandapuri Swamiji warning the Congress against neglecting former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, JD(S) MLA  A.H. Vishwanath has decried religious heads taking cudgels on behalf of parties and politicians.

Speaking to media persons here yesterday, Vishwanath, who also belongs to Kuruba community, said that religious heads should be more concerned about the state of the society and community in general.

Asking the seers not to get involved in politics, he said that seers indulging in politics does not augur well for democracy.

Vishwanath said that Kaginele Mutt Seer should realise that Siddharamaiah was not the only leader of the Kuruba Community.

Recalling that he was instrumental in bringing Siddharamaiah to the Congress fold, Vishwanath expressed disappointment over Niranjanandapuri Swamiji and Kuruba Sangha speaking only in favour of Siddharamaiah.

“Where were the Seer and Kuruba organisations when injustice was done to me”. he asked.

The JD(S) MLA also wanted to know why the Seer and Kuruba Sangha was silent when Siddharamaiah did not induct even one member from the community into the Cabinet for four years.

Referring to the political statements of Mate Mahadevi, Nanjavadhoote Swamiji and Niranjananadapuri Swamiji, he said it was unfair on their part to defend or lobby on behalf of politicians and added that the seers should speak against social evils and raise farmer issues.

Vishwanath, who said that the coalition Government would complete five years in office, accused former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah of interfering in the coalition Government.
