A neglected vacant site

March 19, 2020

Sir,

It is high time that Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) takes action against the owners of old vacant sites in the city’s jurisdiction as they are turning into garbage dumping yards and polluting the surrounding environment.

For example, a site opposite to the Bisilu Maramma temple in Gangothri Layout, which is situated immediately next to our house, is vacant for a little over two decades now. Some miscreants are regularly throwing litter there which has become an eyesore, apart from aiding the mosquitoes to breed.

MCC should find the owner and impose penalty for keeping it vacant or in a neglected state.
