A treat of fine arts for Ramanavami

Sri Ramaseva Mandali Charitable Trust celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year. The Trust has scheduled a unique fine arts programme at Sri Prasanna Parvathi Kalyana Mantapa, VV Mohalla.

On Apr.6 (Saturday) at 6 pm, Swami Atmajnanandaji, President of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, will inaugurate the series. This will be followed by a Grand Classical Dance by Dr. Sanjay Shantaram & Party. Sanjay Shantaram is a well-known dancer as well as  an actor.

On Apr. 7 (Sunday) at 10 am, a young group from Chennai “LAYAM” led by Vadiraj is going to perform an instrumental ensemble. In the evening, Karnataka Kanmani awardee Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy will confer the title Sangita Kalaradhaka to Vid. H.K. Narasimha Murthy, a reputed violinist, at 6 pm. This will be followed by a grand Violin Duet along with his son H.N. Bhaskar. They will be accompanied on mridanga by H.S. Sudheendra and  G.S. Ramanujan on ghata.

On Apr.8 (Monday) at 6.15 pm, Shatavadhani R. Ganesh  will give a special discourse on Ramayana.

On Apr.9 (Tuesday) at 6.15 pm, the audience will witness an audio visual treat where Surabhi                                                        Gana Kala Mandira of Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar will present “Sangita Rachanegalalli Dashavatara” through music, dance and drama.

On Apr. 10 evening, Prince Rama Verma from Trivandrum  will present a vocal concert accompanied by Avaneeswaram Vinu on violin and B. Harikumar on mridanga.

Next day on Apr. 11 (Thursday) at 6.15 pm, Kalapini Komkali, senior Hindustani Vocalist and daughter of Pt. Kumara Gandharva will be enthralling the audience through Hindustani vocal.

On Apr.12 (Friday) evening, connoisseurs are in for a big treat. Sugama Sangeeta Academy will present Prof. Srinivasa Tophakane’s Geetha Ramayana covering the entire gamut of  Ramayana.

On Apr. 13 (Saturday) evening, Vid. Pattabhiram Pandit along with Mattur Srinidhi, H.S. Sudheendra and G.S. Ramanujan will render vocal music.

On the evening of Apr.14 (Sunday), Sri Mahaganapati Yakshagana Mandali, Mudradi Karkala, will stage “Vali Vadha.”

The last day, Apr. 15 (Monday) evening, Vid. Maharajapuram Ramachandran along with Mysore V. Srikanth, Akshay Anand and V.S. Ramesh will entertain the audience through a vocal concert.

Daily in the evening from 5.15 to 6.15 pm, youth artistes will perform and mornings will have the religious fervour with abhisheka to Rama, Navagraha, Japa etc.

On 13th morning – Ramanavami celebrations; 14th morning – Sri Rama Taraka Homa and on 15th morning – Sri Rama Pattabhisheka will be performed, according to the organisers.
