Absence of safety precautions

February 20, 2020

Sir,

Recently, a lorry was seen transporting cut stone slabs on the Ring Road with its rear door left open and without securing the stones with rope. In the absence of any safety precautions, there is a chance for the slabs to slip from the lorry and in case it falls (especially at unscientifically laid speed-breakers or while applying a sudden break) on any vehicle coming behind it or moving sideways, may turn out to be a catastrophe.

It is not known, why people do not take safety measures like covering the lorry with a tarpaulin and tying the slabs with thick rope and closing the rear door of the lorry, etc., before they start the vehicle. It is always advisable to take precautions proactively rather than repelling after any disaster caused due to negligence.
