Accidental fire : Documents destroyed at Karnataka Gramin Bank atop Chamundi Hill

Mysore/Mysuru: Accidental fire has destroyed many important documents at Karnataka Gramin Bank atop Chamundi Hill yesterday.

Public, who noticed thick smoke emanating from the Bank, informed the Police and the Fire Station immediately. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the spot, swung into action and managed to douse the fire. Bank Cashier Rakshit, who too arrived at the spot, opened the locks of the Bank and facilitated the operation.

Some important documents, which were stored in a portion of the Bank, have been destroyed in the fire and luckily the fire did not spread to the cash counter.

Rakshit said that the more information would be available only after the Fire Officer inspects the spot.

Fire Officer Nagaraj Urs, Somaiah and others took part in the operation.
