November 12, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar said that action on dilapidated Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) Men’s Hostel located opposite MUDA on JLB Road, will be taken in another four days.

“I have asked engineers to submit a report within four days. Depending upon their observation, the State Government will decide whether to go for renovation or build new building by demolishing the existing structure,” he said.

Talking to reporters after inspecting the ramshackle building yesterday, the Minister said he was very pained to see the medical students living under such a dangerous situation. They will go by what the engineers say. The Government is ready for renovation of the building which is 60 year old or demolition to construct the new building. The work will be taken out of funds available from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and Department of  Medical Education.
