ADC chairs preliminary meetings on holding Jayantis in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) B.R. Poornima chaired separate preliminary meetings at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in city recently to discuss preparations for Sri Madiwala Machidevara Jayanti, Sri Savita Maharshi Jayanti and Sri Santa Sevalal Jayanti celebrations:

Madiwala Machidevara Jayanti will be celebrated in a grand scale on Feb.1. A procession will be flagged off in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the Palace North Gate at 10 am on that day and a stage programme will be held at Kalamandira at 11 am.  Prior to the inauguration, Vachanas on Sri Madiwala Machideva will be rendered from 10.30 am to 11 am.

District Administration, Kannada and Culture Department and Sri Savita Maharshi Jayantyotsava Samiti will be jointly organising Sri Savita Maharshi Jayanti celebrations at Kalamandira on Feb.11 at 11 am. 

Sri Santa Sevalal Jayanti will be held at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises on Feb.25 at 4 pm. Vachana Gayana has been organised on the occasion apart from a lecture on ‘Sri Santa Sevalal.’

District Minister V. Somanna will inaugurate all the Jayanti celebrations and MLA L. Nagendra will preside over the events. 

Kannada and Culture Asst. Director H. Channappa was present during the preliminary meetings along with the respective Jayantyotsava Samiti members — Madiwala Machidevara Jayanti Samiti President Chandrashekar Byri, General Secretary Channakesha, Vice-President Prashanth, Youth President Ravinandan and Madiwala Machidevara Jayanti Mahila Sangha President Vasantha Kumari; Savita Maharshi Jayantyotsava Samiti District President N.R. Nagesh, Vice-President Manjunath, General Secretary Harish; Sri Santa Sevalal Jayanti Samiti President Chandrashekar, Secretary M. Anil, Vice-President Dr. Puranayak and Director Krishna Nayak.
