Aero India Show in Bengaluru from Feb. 3 to 7 next year

Bengaluru: Karnataka will host the 13th edition of Aero India Show in Bengaluru from Feb. 3 to 7, 2021 amid all necessary precautions due to COVID-19, said Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. He was briefing about the State’s preparations for the Show at the Ambassadors’ Round Table Virtual Summit that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired on Wednesday.  The CM said it was challenging for the State Government and Union Defence Ministry to hold this important event in the midst of pandemic.

Soon after launching 2021 website, interested have already booked the stalls well in advance. The Government is formulating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure the safety of international delegates, participants and citizens.

Guidelines issued by Union Health Ministry will be strictly followed. Thermal screening, sanitisation at regular intervals and social distancing will be strictly adhered. The State’s share in Aviation and Space was around 25 percent. Besides, Karnataka was contributing 65 percent to Aviation-related exports and 67 percent in Defence services, helicopters and airplanes.

Karnataka has been the first State in the country to formulate Aerospace Policy. A private Aerospace Economic Zone has been set up in Belagavi. Apart from this, 1,000 acre has been earmarked adjacent to Kempegowda International Airport for Aerospace Park, Maintenance and Repairs and Defence products cluster in Tumakuru.

Union Minister of State for Defence Sripad Nayak, Ambassadors of various countries, Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar and other officials were present.
