May 17, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru District AITUC General Secretary H.R. Sheshadri has informed that a three-day 11th State-level All India Trade Union Congress(AITUC) conference will be held from May 29 to 31 in the city to discuss the problems faced by workers and the general public

He was speaking at a press conference at Patrakartara Bhavan on Sunday. Sheshadri pointed out that the AITUC is one of the oldest labour organisations in the country and is continuously working to protect the interest of workers with commitment.

“The Union Government by implementing various anti-labour polices is exploiting the labour force. By bringing amendments to Labour Welfare Laws it is committing atrocities on the working class of the nation. Through amendments, labour laws have been classified as 4 codes and as a result of this there will be more atrocities on workers and efforts are being made continuously to snatch away workers’ rights. In this backdrop, to discuss various problems faced by the workers and the general public a three-day State-level conference is being organised in city from May 29 to 31,” he added.

Giving details about the proposed conference, Sheshadri said that on May 29 at 10.30 am, workers procession will be flagged off from Town Hall and will return to the same venue after passing through various streets of the city. At 12 noon,  a public session will be held in Town Hall premises.  AITUC General Secretary Com. Amarjeet Kaur will inaugurate the conference.
