Accused arrested; he had confined the minor in his shop

Nanjangud:  An incident of a married man, allegedly kidnapping a minor girl, confining her in his shop and raping her, has been reported at Kuppasoge village in Nanjangud taluk. Hullahalli Police have arrested the accused identified as 32-year-old Siddaraju of Kuppasoge.

Siddaraju, who owns a shop at Rajamma Mahadev Layout in the village, was known to the minor girl. About three days ago, the  girl had gone to her grandmother’s house at K. Beltur in H.D. Kote taluk and Siddaraju had allegedly kidnapped the girl there. He then took her to Bengaluru and brought her to Talkad, where he forcibly married her after threatening her. He later brought the girl to his shop and confined her in a room at the shop. He used to lock the door of the room while conducting business and while going home too, Siddaraju used to keep the girl confined in the room of the shop, according to Police sources, who added that Siddaraju used to rape the girl at his shop before going home every day.

But on Friday night, Siddaraju had forgot his mobile phone at the shop and the girl, who found the mobile phone called her father and narrated her ordeal besides telling him where she was confined.

The girl’s father immediately informed the matter to Hullahalli Police and Hullahalli Sub-Inspector Sandeep and staff raided the shop in the night, arrested Siddaraju and rescued the minor girl.

Siddaraju was produced before a Court which has remanded him to judicial custody. The girl has been handed over to the Girls Balamandira.
