Alleged misappropriation of Rs. 1.57 crore in MCC

Criminal case registered against former Mayor Purushotham, former Corporator Prabhumurthy

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging that former Mayor Purushotham and former Corporator Prabhumurthy had misappropriated Mysuru City Corporation’s (MCC’s) Rs. 1.57 crore, a criminal case has been registered at Ashokapuram Police Station.

Following an order from MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy that the two had misappropriated Rs. 1.57 crore meant for the construction of 27 Community Halls during 2001 to 2018, MCC Zone-2 Developmental Officer M. Somashekar has lodged a complaint. Ashokapuram Police, who have registered a case under IPC section 406 and 420, are investigating.
