A live hot Mysore Pak tasting station and a live Delhi style street-food counter
Mysuru: Anand Sweets & Savouries, the Bengaluru heritage mithai house founded in 1988, opened its first store in Mysuru on Kalidasa Road in Vijayanagar yesterday.
It is the brand’s first store outside Bengaluru in its home State of Karnataka; Beyond Bengaluru, Anand also operates airport outlets at Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Kochi.
“If we were going to open beyond Bengaluru in Karnataka, it was always going to be Mysuru first,” said Arvind Dadu, Managing Director. “The demand is already here and this is a city that values heritage and quality as much as we do, a deliberate move into a market we know is ready for us.”
The Mysuru Store opens with a curated selection from Anand’s range, led by its signatures — Badamika, Pistamika and Chocomika, Meetaaz and Motichoor Laddoo — alongside mithai favourites like Kaju Katli and Rasmalai, a collection of counter of Signature Biscottis Badamika, Pistamika and Chocomika and Middle Eastern delights such as Baklava & Kunafa and the brand’s festive gifting hampers.
For Mysuru, the selection also leans into South Indian favourites: Maddur Vada, Rice and Coconut Kodubale, Benne & Adyar Murukku and regional mixtures. All sweets are made in pure ghee and organic milk and the savouries have no palm oil.
Sitting alongside the signatures is Anand’s growing mindful range: no added sugar Kaju Katli, Besan Laddu and Sohan Papdi; laddus made with Ragi, Millet, Flax Seed and Gond; and a line of baked and roasted snacks and Makhana for everyday snacking.
At the heart of the store is a live hot Mysore Pak tasting station, serving it fresh and warm across varieties: the classic alongside Malt Mysore Pak, Dry Fruit Mysore Pak, Jaggery Mysore Pak and Kaju Mysore Pak.
The store also brings Anand’s food experience to Mysuru: a made-to-order counter for Chole Bhature, Delhi-Style Chaat, Gol Gappe and Tandoor.
The launch celebrations featured a special appearance by playback singer Vijay Prakash, alongside Mysuru historian Dharmendra Kumar, popularly known as ‘History Uncle,’ whose storytelling on the city’s heritage set the tone for Anand’s homecoming.
The store operates from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm every day.
