Winners of Quiz Contest to get cash prizes and merit certificate

Mysore/Mysuru: On the occasion of 105th Jayanti Mahotsava of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, which was held on Aug. 29, two animated documentaries ‘Suttur Sri Mutt – Guruparampara’ and ‘The Heritage of Sri Suttur Mutt’ were released and telecasted later in the evening.

Over 3,500 persons watched the direct telecast, following which quiz programme was held based on the animated documentaries. A total of 580 persons participated in Kannada quiz contest and the following participants have won the prizes: A.M. Kushal, a 9th standard student of JSS Public School, Chamarajanagar has bagged the first prize; K.N. Sarvesh Kumar, 8th standard student of JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar bagged the second prize; M. Neethi, Assistant Professor working for SJCE – third prize; B.S. Vinutha, teacher, working in JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar – fourth prize and R. Mala, a B.Com student studying at Mattur village near Shivamogga bagged the fifth prize.

A total of 898 persons participated in the English quiz contest. Saroja Ramaswamy, an 83-year-old housewife from HSR Layout, Bengaluru, has bagged the first prize; Dr. H.M. Akshay, Assistant Professor working for JSS Medical College, bagged the second prize; M. Smrithi, a first standard student studying in JSS Public School, HSR Layout, Bengaluru – third prize; Kirtana Chetan, eighth standard student from the same school – fourth prize and K.P. Srisowmi, tenth standard student of JSS Public School, Chamarajanagar,  bagged the fifth prize.

Winners will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 for the first prize, Rs. 4,000 for the second, Rs. 3,000 for the third, Rs. 2,000 for the fourth and Rs. 1,000 for the fifth place along with a merit certificate.
