Anjuman holds Eid Milan event

Mysore/Mysuru: Anjuman E Hadeeqathul Adab, Mysore, held its annual flagship Eid Milan programme on Sunday at the Rani Bahadur Auditorium on Hunsur Road, after an interruption of three years due to the pandemic. The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and their translation by Anjuman Treasurer Noorulla Shareef. 

Former President of the Anjuman Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem narrated the aims and history of the Eid Milan and said that it was a very unique and continuing effort over the past eighteen years, to bring the various communities close to each other, fostering a spirit of peace and communal harmony.

Secretary of the Anjuman, M. A. K.  Tanveer welcomed while former President Syed Shafi Ahmed presented a report of the Anjuman activities.

President of the Anjuman, Dr Mohammed Salahuddin introduced the main speaker Dr. K.P. Puthuraya, former Director of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).

Lauding the services of  the Anjuman, Dr. Puthuraya said that organising programmes of this type was very essential today to inculcate in the younger generation a spirit of harmony and goodwill.  He emphasised on the need for people to first become good human beings before pursuing and achieving their material goals.

Former Minister and MLA Tanveer Sait said that whatever religion we follow we should                      follow and respect other religions also and one should practice the same principles that we preach to others.

Former MLA Vasu also spoke and congratulated the Anjuman for organising functions like these  which would act like bridges between communities and religions. Former Corporator and ex-member, Karnataka State Haj Committee, Suhail Baig, honoured the dignitaries and Anjuman members with shawls. Historian Prof. P.V. Nanjaraj Urs and Cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Tameem Ahmed, who has the unique distinction of having preformed more than a hundred heart surgeries in a three tier city like Tumakuru, also spoke. Anjuman member S. Moinuddin Pasha proposed a vote of thanks.
