Anjuman pays tribute to eminent personalities

Mysuru:  Anjuman-e-Hadeeathul Adab had organised a condolence meeting at Arafath Function Hall on Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla on Sunday last to pay tributes to journalist and medical practitioner Dr. Abdul Rahman, Educationist Prof. Ranjith Singh Rangeela, Hazrath Moulana Syed Khudrath Ulla Saheb Baqvi, Urdu Poet Abdul Khadir Ariff Mandya and Dr. Jameel Jaalbi, who passed away recently .

It is a tradition of Anjuman-e-Hadeeqathul Adab to organise condolence meetings to pay tribute to the departed souls of eminent personalities of city who had worked to spread the message of communal harmony and in the filed of Education.

The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Moulana Shabaz Hussain and Naath by Fida Hussain. President of Anjuman-e-Hadeeqathul Adab Syed Shafi Ahmed welcomed and  presented a brief report of the activities of Anjuman. He gave a brief introduction of the departed souls for whom the condolence meeting was organised.

Speaking on the occasion, city’s well-known Physician and Star of Mysore columnist Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem, who is also the former President of Anjuman-e- Hadeeqathul Adab, said that it was a tradition of Anjuman to organise Eid Milan on the happy occasion of Eid festival and to invite people from various walks of life.

He further said that the organisation also organises condolence meeting to remember the departed souls of various communities, who had worked to spread the message of communal harmony.

Dr. Javeed said that along with late personalities of Muslim community, the Anjuman was remembering Prof. Ranjith Singh Rangeela, who was a retired Professor at Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) and a regular invitee in the Eid Milan every year. He said that Prof. Ranjith Singh loved to attend the Eid Milan function and he always used to praise Prophet Mohamed (P.B.U.H) while addressing the gathering.  

Mohamed Anwar from Punjab, who is working at CIIL and Dr. Azeeza Rizwana also paid rich tributes to Prof. Ranjith Singh.

Well-known Orthopaedician Dr. Anees Ur Rahman, son and  Iftrekhar Ahmed, son-in-law of late Dr. Abdul Rhaman spoke about late Dr. Abdul Rahman. Taj Mohamed Khan, Hon. Secretary, Rifahul Muslimeen Educational Trust (RMET), spoke on the life of Abdul Rahman and his services to the field of Education, Journalism and Sports, particularly Football.

Stating that Dr. Abdul Rahman never took fees from poor patients, he said that a scholarship would be instituted in his name as Dr. Abdul Rahman was also one of the Trustees of RMET.

Taj Mohamed Khan requested  the office-bearers of Anjuman to publish a book on the functions hosted by Anjuman.

Moulana Abdul Samad prayed for the departed souls. Syed Shafi Ahmed, President, Anjuman-e-Hadeeqathul Adab, compered and proposed a vote of thanks.
