Annual Feast at Infant Jesus Cathedral in city from Jan. 12 to Jan.20

Mysuru: The Annual Feast of the Infant Jesus Cathedral on Hunsur Road will be celebrated from Jan. 12 to  Jan.20.The Annual Feast celebrations will begin with the Flag Hoisting by Fr. Thomas Mangalathil, the Parish Priest at 6.30 pm on Saturday followed by the Holy Mass and Novena. Fr. Johnson Pullatt MST will be the main celebrant for the Holy Mass and Novena at 8 am on Jan. 13.

There will be Holy Mass and Novena at 6.30 pm everyday from Jan. 14 to 18. Msgr. George Alukka, Vicar General, Diocese of Mandya will celebrate the Holy Mass and Novena at 6.30 pm on Jan. 19 followed by the Eucharistic Procession.

On Jan. 20, the Most Solemn Feast Day, there will be Holy Mass at 7 am. Very Rev. Dr. Varghese Kelamparambil CMI, Provincial, St. Paul’s Province, Mysuru, will be the Main celebrant for the Solemn High Mass in Malayalam at 10.30 am. Around 3000 devotees are expected to take part in the Annasantharpane at 12.30 pm.

Rt. Rev. Dr. K. A. William, the Bishop of Mysuru, will celebrate the Solemn High Mass in Kannada at 4.30 pm followed by the grand candle light procession in honour of Infant Jesus in colourful chariot with bandsets and shinkarimela to the Ring Road Junction, Hinkal. Shinkarmela performance and fireworks display will be held at 7.30 pm. Wayanad Sandra Communications will stage the Malayalam drama “Aarum Kothikkunna Mannu” at 8 pm.

Special arrangements have been made for the Crown offering to Infant Jesus during the Feast days, according to a press release from Michael Joseph, General Convener.
