App-based crop survey compulsory from next year, says Minister

Bengaluru: Maintaining that App-based crop survey has been introduced on an experimental basis this year, Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil said that the App-based survey will be made mandatory from next year.

Speaking at a meeting with Agriculture officers from all districts at Kuvempu Auditorium in GKVK campus here on Friday, Patil said, this year, the implementation of App-based survey has been hit by technical hurdles and heavy rains. But this survey has been successful in most parts of the State, he said and added that officials must motivate farmers for taking up App-based crop survey.

Pointing out that farmers should conduct App-based crop survey for availing Government benefits, the Minister said that the State has recorded 101 percent sowing because of copious rainfall this year, which has brought relief to the Department.
