‘Appoint Dr. Nagesh Bettakote as Music Varsity VC’

June 9, 2018

Mysuru: Alleging that Dr. Nagesh V. Bettakote was not appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of KSGH Music and Performing Arts University just because he was a Dalit, the Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) has urged the Government to consider his name for appointment as VC.

Addressing a press meet here recently, District DSS office-bearer Choranahalli Shivanna said that Dr. Nagesh was denied the VC post although he had all the qualifications.

Alleging that Dr. R. Rajesh, who is currently serving as the In-charge  VC of the University had little knowledge of Music and Arts, Shivanna claimed that the Music Varsity’s former VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar had played a key role in the appointment of Dr. Rajesh, while ensuring that Dr. Nagesh Bettakote is kept out  of the post.

Accusing Dr. Sarvamangala of misusing power when she served as the Music Varsity VC, Shivanna urged the Government to immediately relieve Dr. Rajesh from his post and appoint Dr. Nagesh Bettakote  in his place.
