Apravarambe to host 4-day ‘Kartika Rangotsava’

Mysore/Mysuru: Apravarambe, Mysuru, in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Bengaluru, has organised ‘Kartika Rangotsava’ (Theatre Festival) at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar from Nov. 26 to 29 at 6.30 pm everyday.

Nov. 26: Inauguration and Book Release — Rangayana Mysuru Director Addanda C. Cariappa will inaugurate the Theatre Festival and release Nagachandra’s book (Theatre Text) on “M.R. Sri’s play Dharmaduranta.” MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev will preside. Cultural thinker K. Raghuram Vajpayee will be the chief guest. Senior theatre personality Nagachandra and Publisher Samskruti Subramanya will be present. On the occasion, Sri Gurukula School, Mysuru, children will present ‘Raaga Ranga.’

Nov. 27: Mono act ‘Main Pennu Fir Milangi’ by Chitra Venkataraju of Shanthala Kalavidaru, Chamarajanagar [Director: Nataraj, Honnavalli]. P. Mallesh will inaugurate. M. Chandrashekar will be present.

Nov. 28: Staging of play ‘Parishkara’ by Ranga Sinchana, Bengaluru [Director: K.N. Vasudevamurthy]. H.G. Krishnappa will inaugurate. Y.D. Rajanna will be present.

Nov. 29: Valedictory — Corporator M.V. Ramprasad will preside. Senior writer Dr. Kabbinale Vasantha Bharadwaj will deliver valedictory address. Dr. D. Thimmaiah of Dasti Educational Institutions, Shashidhar Dongre of Kalasuruchi and District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Maddikere Gopal will be the chief guests.
