One held, 25.06 kg of narcotic substance worth Rs. 12.52 lakh seized’

Mysore/Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have arrested one among the two persons who were trying to sell ganja and have seized 25.06 kg ganja worth Rs. 12.52 lakh from him besides launching a hunt to nab the other, who is absconding.

The arrested has been identified as 26-year-old Y. Varun of Channarayapatna. His accomplice who is absconding is Shabeer.

On Feb. 24, when Udayagiri Police were patrolling at Srinidhi Layout in Rajivnagar 2nd Stage, they saw two persons with a scooter in a suspicious manner during which Shabeer sped away in the scooter while the Cops caught hold of Varun.

When the Cops interrogated Varun, he is said to have told the Police that Shabeer had purchased ganja and they both were trying to sell it.

The Police who had seized the bag which was with Varun inspected the contents in it and found two packets containing 13.485 kg and 11.575 kg ganja respectively and seized it.

Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to nab Shabeer.
