Mysore/Mysuru: The STG First Grade College at Chinakurali, Pandavapura, held an awareness programme on ‘COVID-19 third wave’ recently.

The chief guest for the event was Prashanth, Principal, Christ The King PU College, K.R. Pet. The guests of honour on the occasion were T. Maruti, Principal of STG PU College and Nivedita Nagesh, Administrative Officer of the STG Group of Institutions.

Prashanth, in his address, spoke on the impact of the pandemic on common people of the country and expressed his happiness about the students and staff of STG First Grade College completing the vaccination drive of both the doses.

He advised the student fraternity to take up the cause and create awareness amongst the rural community about the ongoing pandemic situation and the importance of vaccination.

Maruti urged the students of Arts, Science and Commerce wing to take a lead in innovative research to face the uncertain challenges in the future and asked them to set an example to become role models for others.

Nivedita Nagesh reiterated the need for precautions in the pandemic. She regretted the declining economic trend and its negative impact on the common man. She said that the youths have an important role in mitigating the effects of the pandemic.

Vice-Principal Dr. Nishanth A. Naidu introduced the guests and also conveyed  the message of CEO C.P. Shivraju, STG Group Institutions. At the programme, it was announced that the institution would give special discount in fee and benefits to the meritorious and economically backward students seeking admissions in the BA wing.

Nisarga of I B.Com welcomed the gathering. Priyanka of I B.Com proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was jointly anchored by Fareen Taj of II B.Com and Arun Kumar of II B.Sc.

Fee waivers

Fee waiver for the 2nd PU students of all the PU Colleges of Mandya district studying in the academic year 2020-21 who have obtained outstanding scores and for those hailing from economically backward communities:

• Top five students with the highest scores are eligible for a 50% fee waiver (Tuition fee of Rs. 8,000 reduced to Rs. 4,000)

• Ten students from economically backward communities are eligible for a 25% fee waiver (Tuition fee of Rs. 8,000 reduced to Rs. 6,000)  For details, contact Vice-Principal Dr. Nishant Naidu on Mob: 96069-80549, according to a press release.
