Awareness programme on Tobacco Control held

Mysuru: Under the National Tobacco Control Programme, the District Surveillance Office (DSO) held an awareness programme on the harmful effects of Tobacco and Nicotine consumption at Mysuru Central Jail recently.

DSO staff Naveedulla Shariff delivered a lecture on the harmful effects of Tobacco and Nicotine consumption, while Psychologist and counsellor R. Jyothi called upon the  prison inmates to avail consultation facility on Tobacco de-addicition at the Tobacco De-addiction Centre set up at the Psychology Department of K.R. Hospital.

On the occasion, more than 100 inmates of the prison voluntarily registered for Tobacco De-addiction Centre consultation.
