‘Awareness during student days can curtail harassment on women’

March 30, 2017

As part of International Women’s Day, Harassment Complaint Investigation Committee, Mahila Vedike and Human Rights Committee together had organised a function at Basudev Somani College in Kuvempunagar on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the programme Manjula Manasa, former Chairperson of State Women’s Commission said that awareness should be created among youth during student days itself regarding respecting women so as to bring down cases of harassment on women. She expressed happiness that Women’s Day was not just observed on Mar. 8 but extended the whole month.

She pointed out that humans preferred to live in groups and socialise each other but that also sometime invited tiffs, misunderstandings and animosity but efforts should be made to replica those negative feelings by love, affection and harmony.
